100% of the proceeds of the track will go to our local food pantry in Kingston NY called People's Place.

Clare wrote this song for her song club assignment in late march 2020. She re-wrote the lyrics probably 5 times, in this ever shifting landscape.
Olivier, Gustave (age 5) and Ernestine (age 3) then came on board, as well as a plethora of talented players and engineers. The is the first release as Manchon Family Band (Clare and Olivier used to be in a band called Clare and the Reasons long ago). We hope to release more songs in 2020, but for now, please share this song widely, we're trying to raise as much money as we can for our local food pantry in Kingston NY.
Clare and Olivier used to have a band called Clare and the Reasons. Olivier has a group called Orchestre de Chambre Miniature.
lyrics
It won’t help to look out on the ocean
Too many people locked in and hurting
I can’t feel the city shaking
The gilded man wins on the backs of the aching
Who’s gonna throw the punch
For the ones who are already down
Does the wind still make a sound if streets are empty in every town
All the shops are boarding up now
my children lead my through the day
sirens and bird songs wax and wane
People help people but our government’s not sane
Who’s gonna throw the punch
For the ones who are already down
Does the wind still make a sound if streets are empty in every town
